The opportunity for leadership positions in the Lions Club of Denver is virtually unlimited. Many Club members are already "movers and shakers" in the community through business and professional activities. All members can develop leadership skills through training and experience offered in the Club.

The Current Leadership Team
2007 - 2008 Officers
Mike James President
Lion Mike joined our club in 1989 after moving to Denver from Michigan in 1980. Since joining our club, Mike has been active on several fronts, including serving on and chairing the Social Services Committee, serving on the Club’s Board of Directors, and the Denver Lions Foundation Board of which he served as President in 1999-2000. Most of us are familiar with Lion Mike as a song leader and occasional invocation leader, a function he has coordinated for several years for our club.
In addition to serving as an active member of the Lions Club of Denver, Lion Mike is Director of Development for Volunteers of America, serves as a Trustee on the Savio House Board and the Fund Raising Committee for Savio House, and is a past-president of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals, Colorado Chapter.
Lion Mike is married to Christine, a Spanish teacher at Graland Country Day School, where his two children, Andrew, 11 years and Anna, 9 years attend.
Ned Nagle First Vice President
Ned began his career in Denver with a local financial institution that traced its roots back to 1891. When Lion Ned was invited to join the Lions Club of Denver in 1987, he was pleased to have the opportunity to join with others in the effort to continue this important work. He left the bank in 1993 to begin his own financial services practice.
Over the years, Ned has focused on the club’s Youth Service activities – helping to organize our participation in the Denver Public Schools Study Hall tutoring program at Schmitt Elementary School, working on the annual state tournament for the Odyssey of the Mind program, helping to begin our efforts with local middle schools in the Lions International Peace Poster contest, and working with the Denver Lions Foundation to sponsor Denver high school sophomores’ participation in the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership seminars. Ned has also helped in recent years with the 9Health Fair.
He served as a Director of the club from 1992-94, as a Foundation Trustee from 1996-99 and was named Lion of the Year for club year 1998-99.
