Leadership in the Denver Lions Club

The opportunity for leadership positions in the Lions Club of Denver is virtually unlimited. Many Club members are already "movers and shakers" in the community through business and professional activities. All members can develop leadership skills through training and experience offered in the Club.

The Current Leadership Team

2011 - 2012 Officers

Flossie O'Leary
President

Since joining the Denver Den in 1998, Lion Flossie has served on the Club's Board of Directors, the Denver Lions Foundation Board, and has also served as Secretary for both.  She has also been Tail Twister, organized Third Thursdays, emceed the Lions St. Patrick's Day Dinner Dance, co-led the Volunteer Team, and occasionally leads us in song and offers an invocation.  She regularly volunteers for 9HealthFair, KidSight and the Colorado Lions Camp in Woodland Park.

Lion Flossie is the Director for Foundation and Corporate Relations at Regis University.  She has worked in development since moving to Colorado in 1992, before which she spent six years in the fashion industry in New York.  Lion Flossie serves on the Planning and Community Development Committee of the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association, is active in the development of the Transit-Oriented Development plan for the new light rail station at 41st and Fox Street, is a precinct coordinator for her House District, and recently served on the board of the Restorative Justice Forum.

Lion Flossie is pursuing a M.A. in Creative Writing, holds a M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Regis University and a B.A. in Communications from Rutgers University.  She is married to Scott Smith, who is a botanical consultant and photographer.

Steve Kinsky
First Vice President

Steve joined the Club in 1996.  He was recruited by Lion Bill Hildenbrand.  He was favorably inclined to join, because as a young kid he played organized hockey in Rochester NY in a league sponsored by a Lions Club.  He was impressed by the dedication to community service of practically all the Lions whom he met.

Over his 15 years as a Denver Den member, Steve has contributed in many ways.  He has served as a Trustee and President of the Denver Lions Foundation, has organized many volunteer efforts, visited other Clubs internationally and served on the Board of Directors.

Steve runs a health insurance brokerage business called Assured Benefit Solutions here in Denver.  ABS specializes in small group health insurance but also handles related insurance such as Medicare supplements and long term care insurance.  He's been in the insurance business for 35 years, including his work as an actuary in life insurance product development.

Steve has a B.A. from Hamilton College and a M.S. in Mathematics from C.U.

He has two sons:  Nat (San Francisco) and Kevin (Aurora) and one grandchild, Ivy.

Greg Osterloth
Second Vice President

Lion Greg's biography is coming soon.

Danielle Osterloth
Secretary

Lion Dani has been a member since 1996.  Lion Don Fullerton persuaded her to work on the Roarings Newsletter.  She attended meetings regularly until 2001 when she and her husband Greg adopted their first child, Galia.

Dani's Lions recognitions include the Humanitarian Award in 2001 and Lion of the Year in 1998-99.  She is excited to continue her contributions as Secretary of the Club.

While very active in the club because of her work on the newsletter, Dani has been visibly absent for a while.  This is because in 2006 she and Greg adopted a sibling group of 3 from Kazakhstan, Nadya, Stas, and Val.

Lion Dani has a BA in Communications, a minor in Art, and a Masters in Theater from the University of MO in Columbia, MO.
