Everything You Wanted to Know About i70 Plans

Tony previously was the Regional Transportation Director for Region One.  The region encompasses the counties of Clear Creek, Gilpin, Jefferson, Douglas, Arapahoe, Adams, Broomfield and City and County of Denver along with all of the Us 36 Corridor.  This Region amasses an amazing team of over 800 professional, general professional and maintenance / labor employees.  Tony DeVito has served as Region 1 Transportation Director since October 2008 and in July Tony has accepted his current position as the I‐70 East Project Director.   

Tony’s new role as I‐70 East Project Director will require engaged leadership as CDOT/HPTE guides this $1.2 billion project through the concessionaire procurement, construction and launch of the new Express Lanes.  Tony’s expertise in collaborating with stakeholders to drive forward initiatives such as the I‐70 Mountain Record of Decision and then implementing and making complex projects such as Twin Tunnels, Peak Period Shoulder Lanes and Fixed Fire Suppression a reality, which will serve this "iconic" project well.  

A Professional Engineer with more than 25 years of experience, Tony also participates in CDOT’s executive management team, responsible for developing Department policies.  Tony began his career with CDOT in 1991, gaining expertise in design, construction and traffic activities statewide.
