Annual Report of Lions Foundation

The purpose of this report is to inform Denver Lions and others of the activities accomplished during the 2014-2015 Lion Year.

In 2017, just two years from now, the Lions Club of Denver will celebrate 100 years of community service.   Over the years, Denver Lions have impacted hundreds of thousands of people.   In 1921, the first major program of the Club was the Children Milk Fund.  The fund provided milk and crackers to Denver’s needy children for nearly 40 years.  One hundred years later, Denver Lions are still providing services to Denver’s children and families.

The Denver Lions provide a variety of support to the local community with both grants and volunteer time. The members volunteer their time for vision screening through the KidSight program, reading to kids at the Rude Park day care, serving on the Boards of various Lions organizations, serving as cashiers at 9Health Fairs and in many other ways. Members also contribute funds to the Denver Lions Foundation, the not-for-profit arm of the Lions Club of Denver. The Foundations supports community needs by making grants. The Denver Lions program is comprised of four pillars, namely Sight Conservation, Hearing Conservation, Youth Services and Social Services. From time to time the Foundation may support other special activities.

The Club’s many programs are funded through the Denver Lion’s Foundation.   The Club does not have fund raising activities. Our Lions want to spend time on service rather than fund raising.  We raise money through the generous donations of Lions who support our community service programs.
