The Club meets weekly from September to June at Maggiano's Little Italy Restaurant, 500 16th St. in downtown Denver. The food is fabulous!

9. If you are age 18 or older and like to help children and others in need, you may be invited for membership.

8. The Lions Club of Denver was formed in 1917, the same year as the founding of Lions Club International.

7. The motto of the Lions Club of Denver is "We Serve."

6. The dual Lions you see on our emblem emblazoned above represent a proud past and a confident future.

5. We operate or contribute to nationally-recognized programs and activities in the Metro Denver community.

4. These include Savio House, a program for at-risk youth and their families; The Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute for research and treatment of vision-related problems and The Rude Park Day Care Center to care for children of low- income families.

3. We coined the term "Glasses for the Masses," an ongoing drive to collect used eyeglasses for distribution by medical experts to the needy in underdeveloped countries.

2. Our members are active in the work of Lions Clubs internationally and frequently hold posts of worldwide leadership in the Club.
