From Keyboardists to Tail-Twisters
 |
| Fun is an integral part of every weekly meeting. |
This team strives to create fun and engaging programs each week, and involves three greeters, a song leader, keyboard player, guest & visitor introducer, invocation, speaker introducer, weekly program preparation, guest speakers, the Club president, and two tail-twisters, who enliven the meeting with humor, gentle reminders and small fines for "infractions," such as not wearing the Club pin or allowing cell phones to ring.
The weekly program provides guests and potential members with their all-important, initial impression of Lionism and the Denver Lions Club. The better that impression the more likely guests are to join the Club. Together with the bi-weekly newsletter "Roarings" and the Lion Line (telephone message), the weekly program is a primary means of communicating with the members and the forum for exchanging invaluable verbal and written information.
The weekly meeting continually conveys information regarding the specific activities that give meaning to our motto, "We Serve". The involvement this year of sixteen new members of the Denver Lions Club as greeters enhances the process of newer and older members recognizing one another and becoming better acquainted. The Weekly Programs Team meets periodically to discuss successes, identify areas of improvement and brainstorm and plan the implementation of new ideas. The weekly program is also the primary forum for meeting, welcoming and communicating with visiting Lions, and team volunteers are integral in making guests feel at home.
The Weekly Programs Team has a wide array of reoccurring and one-time volunteer opportunities and members are encouraged to volunteer
