Colorado Legislative
Michael F. Feeley

Mike provides representation before the Colorado legislative and executive branches for clients such as FedEx, Comcast, SAS, Colorado State University, Corrections Corporation of America and the Colorado Auto Dealers Association. At the federal level, he leads the Brownstein team providing representation for the City of Aurora, Colorado and Jefferson County, Colorado. Mike formerly co-chaired the firm’s national Government Relations Department.

Mike served in the Colorado State Senate from 1993 to 2001 and was selected by his caucus to serve as the Senate Minority Leader for seven of his eight years in office, from 1994 to 2001. As a member of the General Assembly's Executive Committee, Mike was responsible for policy and administrative oversight of the Colorado Legislature. During his last year in office, in a Rocky Mountain News survey of his Senate colleagues, Mike was chosen as the Senate's "Most Effective Member," a remarkable honor for a member of the minority party.
Mike has remained active in the public policy arena and has served in appointed state positions under Democratic and Republican administrations.
Website Mobile Ready
Who is the speaker today? When is the next KidSight event? I need to attend the Savio House Board Meeting when was that again?
These are all questions we can have answered by our mobile phones. Fletcher and his communication team have created a fantastic website and now they have made it mobile ready too.
Everything you can access on the website through your computer you can access by your mobile phone. Welcome to the 21st century!
If you have any questions please contact Lion Fletcher and he can assist you.
The Savio House Board Meeting is the first Wednesday of every month.
Lion Don Smith wants to remind members that anyone is welcome to the board meetings. If you have time on Wednesday stop by and see what happening with Savio House. They do great work with the community.
New Member Orientation
We are excited to announce that we have new members!
With new membership comes orientation. Lion President Terry and 2ndVP Fletcher will be presenting the new member orientation on Wednesday October 21st.
Thank you again to Lion Brian Henderson for hosting at the First Baptist Church on 14th and Grant.

The orientation will inform new members on the services the Lions Club provides. A very informative meeting complete with pizza and beer.
Even if you are not a new member and have not been orientated on the purpose and services of the Denver Lions Club please join in.
Please let Lion President Terry Lutts know if you would like to attend.
President and CEO of Boys and Girls Club
Last week John L. Barr stopped by Maggiano's to tell about the great work he is doing with the Boys and Girls Club.
11,000 kids in the Metro Area participate in the Boys and Girls Club for only $2.00 a year. Providing leadership and character building skills, the clubs go where they are most needed. Using two different models; a stand alone model and a in-school model the club offers computer, academic, sports and art support. The kids have the opportunity to partake in experiential learning in such fields  as Medical- Witness an operation, Flight School- learn how to fly a plane, Engineer- the scope of their work, an opportunity that provides experience and gives choices to kids. Choices are key at the Boys and Girls club.  The kids need to know they have choices beyond getting involved in criminal activity, they have opportunities.
The Boys and Girls Club save lives!

Domino Theory
We Serve, We Give, and We Give of ourselves. It's a domino theory.
If we ask one, and ask one to join it can become a domino theory as well.
When we all ask one and ask one to join and the theory kicks in we could have a really great club who could offer more services to the community.
So do your part to start that domino!
