The Lions Club of Denver leads programs to help people see and succeed.
As an active organization, our members raise money, volunteer and direct sight- and family-focused programs.
At weekly lunches, we network and learn about contemporary issues. We welcome anyone who believes in community service, friendship, and the power of connection.

Denver Lions sponsors medical missions, referred to as "campaigns," to underdeveloped countries around the world.
 
We have supported campaigns to Rwanda, Ecuador, and Nepal, and individual Denver Lions members have also participated with other Lions Clubs in efforts in Mexico, Central America, and other South American countries.

The best way to experience the Lions Club of Denver is to join us for lunch.  Stop by our Tuesday meeting to visit with us and we'll buy your lunch and treat you to one of our great speakers - just for seeing what we are all about.
 
We meet the second and fourth Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at American Legion Post 1 located at 5400 E. Yale Avenue, Denver, CO 80222.
 
If you would like to attend a meeting, contact us directly so we can reserve a seat for you. Guest availability is limited so be sure to get in contact with us as soon as possible. We can be reached through email at: weserve@denverlions.org or by leaving a voicemail at (303) 504-6293.

is in need of regular volunteers-
 
Groups or teams can work any day, any evening, for any number of hours. Teams of up to 9 people will wash and sanitize used eyeglasses, read the prescriptions using a lensometer, and package the glasses for distribution to groups conducting vision missions.
We will work with any group until the group is familiar with all aspects of the process.
 
You do not need to be a member of a Lions Club to assist.
You can bring or order in lunch or dinner.
Make each session fun for all while performing a worthwhile task.

Steve Werner is an international development consultant with a 25-year career working with large NGOs, including CARE, Habitat for Humanity, Water For People, and the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. His major focus is capacity building, program development and evaluation, fundraising planning, and board development. He served in Peace Corps – Korea as a two-year volunteer from 1976 – 1978 and as a Peace Corps Response Volunteer – Georgia from 2016 – 2017. He has served in Rotary through the Rotary Club of Denver Southeast since 1989 and still serves at the club, district, and International levels as a Water and Sanitation specialist. He has served in Leadership San Antonio, the Kellogg National Leadership Program, and the Salzburg Seminar. He is a past board chair of the National Peace Corps Association. Steve, along with other Denver-area Rotarians, helped develop the partnership between Peace Corps and Rotary, and he is the charter president of Partnering for Peace: Friends of Peace Corps and Rotary. He has three grown children and six grandchildren.
